On a warm summer afternoon at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Arizona’s oldest and largest botanical garden, herb gardens stir in breezes scented with dried grasses and blossoms.
Though sweetgrass isn’t native to the Sonoran Desert, its soft, sweet, vanilla‑like aroma mingles beautifully with desert air and reflects the Arboretum’s Chihuahuan-mix ecosystem. Summer Sweetgrass channels that moment—warm sun, gentle rustle, and pure peacefulness.
The scent opens with bright green top notes, capturing freshly cut grass warmed by sunlight. As it unfolds, the heart blooms like meadow flowers, with subtle whispers of jasmine, rose, and peach weaving atop the green base. Finally, the fragrance settles into creamy vanilla and deeper green herbal notes, evoking sun‑dappled meadows and desert grasslands at dusk.
Swirled in shades of soft turquoise and coral, the bar mirrors desert skies just before sunset. Hand‑poured using skin‑nourishing oils, it’s stamped with the AZ Soapworks seal and created in small batches—turning a moment at the Arboretum into a daily ritual of calm and renewal.
