Our story
AZ Soapworks didn’t begin as a business plan. It started with curiosity.
For years, I was fascinated by the plants, herbs and natural remedies that thrive in the Sonoran Desert. What began as an interest in herbalism and traditional plant-based wellness eventually led me to essential oils, natural skincare and, ultimately, soapmaking.
Like many people, I never paid much attention to skincare when I was younger. I spent my days outdoors hiking, horseback riding, exploring Arizona’s backcountry and enjoying every chance I could get to be outside.
Sunscreen, moisturizers and fancy beauty products were usually an afterthought. I assumed my skin would simply take care of itself.
Fortunately, good genetics helped (a bit thanks to my incredible parents!). But as I approached my 50s, I started paying closer attention to what I was putting on my body. After nearly two decades working in the pet industry and seeing the difference natural ingredients could make for animals, I began asking a simple question:
If natural products can help them, why not me?
That question sparked a journey into handcrafted skincare...
Once I discovered soapmaking, I was hooked. It combined everything I loved: herbalism, science, writing, creativity and the incredible plants that grow right here in Arizona. I immersed myself in learning about oils, botanicals, traditional ingredients and centuries-old techniques that are still valued today because they work.
Today, every AZ Soapworks product is inspired by the Southwest and crafted with carefully selected ingredients chosen for quality, performance and skin-loving benefits.

Whenever possible, we incorporate ingredients that reflect the beauty and character of the Sonoran Desert, including aloe vera, jojoba oil, prickly pear seed oil, yucca and other regional botanicals.
We believe skincare doesn't need to be complicated. It should be effective, enjoyable and made with ingredients you can feel good about using.
That's why our products are formulated without parabens and phthalates, and why we focus on creating products that are gentle, thoughtfully crafted and inspired by nature.
Living in Arizona gives us access to one of the most biologically diverse deserts in the world. Many of the ingredients sought after by skincare companies around the globe grow naturally in our own backyard. That connection to the desert isn't just part of our brand — it's part of who we are.
